UV DVC Screen Ink (UV-Curable In k for Optical Disks)

Teikoku UV DVC is UV-curable screen printing ink designed for label printing of optical discs (CD, CD-ROM, CD-R/RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, etc.). It has superior adhesion to all types of spin coated or polycarbonate materials with good durability. UV DVC ink is designed to prevent block errors. It offers good performance due to its low shrinkage rate and extremely low warpage on the recording surface.

Special Features

♦ Superior adhesion to spin coated surfaces

♦ Suitable for Glycol ether type cleaners
♦ Easy to use as it is a low odor, low irritation and amine-free product

Thinning and Cleaning

♦ Thinning is not required for standard applications or even for high-speed CD printings.
♦ Use RE-806 Reducer up to 5 % when required.
"Teikoku Screen Cleaner N" is recommended to clean the stencil. Do not use Reducer for cleaning of stencil.
♦ Some suitability for machine cleaning with low hazard glycol ether type cleaner.
( Preliminary test must be done , as Glycol ether type cleaners may not be used depending on the type of emulsion on stencil.)

Printing & Curing

♦ Stir well before every use.
♦ 300-420 mesh monofilament stencil is recommended. Coverage is 50-60 m2 /kg at 3 00 mesh.

Drying/Curing

♦ Curability and adhesion of UV DVC ink may be affected by: 1) Lower ink layer's color, 2) Ink layer, 3) Type, grade, color of substrate, 4) Multi-layer printing, 5) Type of UV lamp and exposure conditions, 6) Treatment degree of substrate.
♦ Two 80 w/cm metal halide lamps, 15cm lamp height, and 10-15 m/min. belt speed is considered standard. Accumulated energy is about 180-240 mJ/cm2 . Peak Power is 225 MW/cm2

Additives

SM-269 Defoamer: Defoamer avoid s foaming and repelling by add ing up to 1%.
Thixotropic agent: Use to increase the viscosity by adding up to 2%.
SM 510 Additive: Use by adding up to 3% if curability of ink is slow

Safety and Handling

Not Flammable.
Use safety gloves and eyeglasses to protect skin and eyes. If the ink or coating contacts the skin, wash with plenty of water and soap. In case of contact with the eyes, wash with plenty of water and consult with a doctor. Containers should be tightly closed immediately after use, and stored in a dark and cool place.
SDS is available. Please ask for a copy, and read it carefully before handling materials. Please follow the instructions.

Caution

Adhesion testing must be done at your site with actual substrate. Different lots of substrate might show different results. Slight change of application conditions might affect the results. Ink is stabile for 6 months from shipping.
